On January 13, 2016, three fortunate Powerball players learned they would be splitting the record-breaking $1.584 billion jackpot, the largest lottery victory in history. 

The incredible $1.537 billion jackpot winner, who has remained nameless, is only referred to as "the South Carolinian."

A single ticket purchased in Des Plaines, Illinois in July of this year, for the grand total of $1.337 billion, won the third-highest lottery prize in history.

The Mega Millions ticket had the exact numbers on it to win the lottery's top reward of $1.05 billion. Ticket was bought a Kroger store in the Detroit suburb of Novi in Michigan.

In March 2019, the Powerball lottery's top prize of $768,4 million was won by just one fortunate ticket holder. Manuel Franco spent $10 on tickets at a Speedway location in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

On August 23, 2017, Mavis Wanczyk of Chicopee, Massachusetts, was successful in collecting the whole $758.7 million Powerball jackpot.

After months of waiting for a winner, the $731.1 million Powerball jackpot was finally won on January 20, 2021, thanks to one ticket that had the winning numbers.
