Veteran NFL Running Back Released

The time Malcolm Brown spent playing for the New Orleans Saints was brief. The veteran running back was formally let go by the team on Wednesday.

The Saints acquired Brown in late July. He was added to the roster to contend for the No. 3 slot on the depth chart for the squad.

Given that Brown was just released by the Saints, it's reasonable to assume that they have more faith in the other running backs on their roster.

Brown played for the Los Angeles Rams for the first six years of his NFL career. During that time, he racked up 1,188 rushing yards and 337 receiving yards.

Brown participated in seven games for the Miami Dolphins in 2021. With 125 rushing yards and one touchdown, he had a successful year.

Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram are already known to New Orleans as the backbone of its rushing assault. Brown is no longer a factor.
